Coast 28 miles downhill from the slopes of Mt. Haleakala (6,500 ft) to sea level on this Maui Island Biking Adventure. A Maui bike tour leader will escort you and your group through the changing climate of the world's largest dormant volcano. Bicycle Safety Guidelines Your safety is our policy. Our goal is to provide you with a fun and safe journey through one of the worlds most unique and spectacular environments. Please read carefully in order to participate on this downhill bicycle ride, you must abide by the following safety regulations: 1. Get on, and dismount a bicycle safely 2. Be able to ride a bicycle in complete control 3. Inform your cruise leader of any medical conditions that you may have 4. Be able to negotiate your bicycle in complete control while riding through 180 degree turns down Haleakala 5. Meet Maui Mountain Cruisers Medical Clearance Form 6. If I am, or suspect I am pregnant, I will not be allowed to ride this bicycle 7. You must read and sign our documents before you are allowed to participate in this activity. Our documents are designed to set limits and boundaries on participants while alerting them the potential causes of jeopardy, and requiring their certification that they have no limitations that would impact their ability to participate safely. 8. Participants have ridden a bicycle in the last 6 months. 9. Participants are aware that this activity entails risk of injury, death, illness, disease, or damage to my property. Maui Mountain Cruisers reserves the right to refuse or terminate the participation of any person it judges incapable of meeting the rigors and requirements of the bike ride down Haleakala. 10. You must be 14 years old and 4’10” or taller. You may not weight over 270lbs. in order to ride our bicycles. Wear warm clothing in layers - competent riders only - please, no beginners - wear close-toed rubber soled shoes - minimum 12 years of age - 5 feet tall guideline height - sorry, no pregnant women All participants will need to sign a medical/physical clearance form and demonstrate a minimum level of bicycle riding competency prior to participating in this activity.

Bike & Winery Tour
Bike the Western Slopes of Haleakala and Enjoy Local Wine Tasting
Tour Includes: A round trip transfer from your hotel or condo. Continental breakfast, pastries, hot beverages and restrooms are provided at our base office. Bicycle helmets and windbreakers are fitted to each guest for their comfort and tour safety. Safari van tour ascends to the top of Haleakala Ranch at the 6500' elevation outside the National Park. Tour Guides will go over a comprehensive safety briefing Including Hawaii's bicycle safety regulations and tour guidelines. Downhill bike safari gently descends the western slopes of Haleakala volcano with two safety stops in the switchbacks for rider evaluation, rest and photo opportunities. Enjoy spectacular views while coasting down the newly paved state highway. This roadway has wide paved "pull out" areas for photo stops and/or traffic passes. Two experienced tour guides will be with you to answer any questions. Enjoy the comfort of our custom made bicycle while coasting through the green switchbacks of the western slopes filled with bi-coastal views of the Central Valley. Eucalyptus forests and the upcountry community of Kula with its beautiful lavender farms and Jacaranda tree lined roadways will complete the bicycle portion of your safari. Safari van tour continues from above Pukalani and travels to Ulupalakua with photo stop along the way. Enjoy a no host picnic lunch at Ulupalakua ranch. Unguided Summit Deluxe Bike Tour
The Summit Deluxe leaves Haiku at approximately 9:00 am and takes you to Haleakala's 10,023 foot summit for a view of the crater and a narrated tour of Haleakala National Park, which includes the summit, crater, and visitor center. We stage at 6500' where you ride at your own pace back down to the store by 4:00pm.
Some call it the eighth wonder of the world, others call it a "power center". It is all that and more. At once forbidding and compelling, Haleakala National Park is Maui's main natural attraction. Just going up the mountain is quite an experience, let alone biking down! No where else can you climb from sea level to 10,023' in less than an hour. At the summit, the 3,000' deep crater you peer down into is 7 miles long, 2 miles wide and 21 miles in circumference. Big enough to contain Manhattan! Included in Tour: Transportation up to Haleakala Summit, crater viewing and a guided van tour (1-1 1/2 hours) of the park. You will start biking at 6500 feet, just outside the park entrance.
