Kayak Kauai on "Da Kine" Tour


Paddle the majestic Wailua River, original home to the first Hawaiians who came from the Marquesas Islands to Kauai almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai's most sacred area. After paddling past numerous Heiaus (sacred shrines), view ancient Kamokila Village, the sight made famous in the jungle scene of the film Outbreak. Heading up the north fork of the River, paddle leisurely through one of Kauai's most beautiful jungle rivers until you come to the trailhead for the hike to enchanting Secret Falls, an 80 foot fall that descends into a refreshing swimming hole. This will be a highlight of your Hawaiian vacation! Enjoy a picnic lunch and beverages and a cool dip before heading back down river. Enjoy the Wailua with the safety and expertise of Kauai Guides.

You haven't seen mystical Hanalei until you kayak along the Hanalei river. On this adventure you will float past some of the island's most breathtaking scenery as you take in Kauai's famed North Shore.

You'll also enjoy snorkeling near the famous Princeville Hotel as your tour takes you from the river to the ocean. This 3 hour adventure activity includes approximately 2 hours of paddling and plenty of time to snorkel and enjoy beverages along the way. Tours are at 9:15 am or 1:15 pm.

This will be a long, impressive day of warm coastal paddling and caving along the monumental Na Pali Coast with your island guide(s). Paddle beyond the verdant valley of Kalalau, past the arches of Honopu, and into the azure waters of a volcanic sea cave on this adventure activity. Encounter Dolphins, Tropic Birds and the elusive Monk Seal. Marvel at plunging waterfalls, hanging valleys and secluded beaches. Later, pulling ashore, we'll spend a few hours stopping to rest and have lunch on the quiet beach of Miloli’i. At Miloli’i we can swim, beach comb, visit an old Hawaiian fishing shrine or hike to a nearby plunging waterfall.

Polihale State Park, where the cliffs meet the sand dunes, is our final destination. After a refreshing shower, a van awaits, ready to whisk you back to Hanalei around 7:30 p.m., with memories of the cliffs and warm seas to bring home from your Hawaiian vacation.

When And Where: May through September is considered the "season". Our permit from State Parks does not allow us to operate prior to May 15th. We schedule tours for every day of the week from May 15th to mid-September.

Participants should be comfortable in the water, in good physical condition and not prone to sea-sickness. About five to six hours of intermittent paddling.
